This Privacy Policy explains how Random AI Prompt (“the Service”, “we”, “us”) handles information. Random AI Prompt is a free, open-source AI image-prompt generator created by 1fairyfox. It is available as a website (at prompt.fairyfox.io), as a desktop application you run on your own computer, as a command-line tool (“prompt”) you run on your own computer, and is planned for a future mobile/Android version. This policy applies to all of these. The command-line tool behaves like the desktop application: your settings and API keys are stored in local files on your computer, and prompts and keys are sent only to the AI provider you choose, never to us.

What we do not collect

We have deliberately built the Service so that we collect as little as possible — in practice, nothing about you on our side. Specifically:

• There are no user accounts and no sign-up. We never ask for your name, email, phone number, or address.
• We run no analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or behavioral profiling, and we do not build any user database.
• We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, or photo library.
• We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with anyone, because we do not hold any.

Information stored on your own device

To work, the Service saves your preferences and content on the device you are using — not on our servers. This includes things like your settings, presets, prompt building blocks, appearance (theme) preferences and any themes you import, and any API keys you enter. In the web version this lives in your browser’s local storage (under the rap.store. prefix); in the desktop app it is stored in local files on your computer, and any images you generate are saved to a folder you control.

This data never leaves your device except as described in the next section. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for the Service, or by deleting the app’s files / uninstalling it.

Information sent to AI providers you choose

To generate an image or text, the Service sends your prompt to the AI provider you select. When you do this, the text of your prompt and the API key you entered are sent directly from your device to that third-party provider (for example a Stable Diffusion endpoint, OpenAI, NovelAI, Stability AI, and others). The request does not pass through us — we operate no server that receives your prompts or your API keys.

For security reasons, some providers cannot be called directly from a web browser. Those providers are simply unavailable in the web version; to use them, run the desktop app, where the request still goes directly from the app to the provider.

Each provider handles your prompt, your key, and any generated content under its own privacy policy and terms, which we do not control. Please review the policy of any provider whose key you use.

Update checks (desktop version)

The desktop application checks whether a newer version of the app is available by requesting the latest release information from the project’s public GitHub page. This request is made directly from your computer to GitHub and carries only a standard web request (such as your IP address); it contains no accounts, no personal information, and none of your prompts, settings, or API keys. It is used only to let the app tell you that an update exists. GitHub handles this request under its own privacy policy. The web version does not perform this check — it is always the latest deployed version. (This is the same kind of direct-to-GitHub request the desktop app already makes when you restore built-in content to its defaults.)

Hosting and server logs (web version)

The website is hosted on Netlify. Like virtually all web hosting, Netlify automatically processes basic technical information required to deliver the site and keep it secure — most notably your IP address and standard request metadata — in its server and edge logs. This is handled by Netlify as our hosting provider under Netlify’s own privacy policy. We do not add our own analytics, profiles, or user database on top of it.

Fonts

The Service’s fonts are served by the Service itself, from its own address. They are not loaded from Google Fonts or any other third-party font service, so no information about you (such as your IP address) is sent to a font provider when the app loads.

Cookies

The Service does not use cookies. It uses your browser’s local storage for functional settings as described above, which is not a tracking cookie and is not transmitted to us. See our Cookies Policy for details.

Children’s privacy

Random AI Prompt is intended for adults aged 18 and over. The desktop application can be configured to generate adult (NSFW) content, so the Service as a whole is not directed to, and must not be used by, anyone under 18. (The web version runs with adult content disabled.) Because we do not collect personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect it from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information — for example, by emailing us — please contact us and we will delete it.

Your privacy rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and others)

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict its processing, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Because we hold essentially no personal information about you, there is usually nothing on our side to access or delete — the data that exists is on your own device and is fully under your control (clear it at any time as described above).

For California residents (CCPA/CPRA): we do not collect, sell, or “share” (for cross-context behavioral advertising) your personal information, and we do not use sensitive personal information.

For users in the EEA/UK (GDPR): where any limited processing occurs (such as the hosting logs described above), it is based on our legitimate interest in operating and securing the Service. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Security

We take reasonable steps to keep the Service secure, but no method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure. Because your API keys are stored on your device, please protect access to your device and treat your keys like passwords.

International users

The Service can be used worldwide. If you access the web version, your request and the limited technical data described above may be processed in the United States or other countries where our hosting and the AI providers you choose operate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service changes. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be reflected here on this page.
